The Smile Enhancement Studio Bantam Vees came in an impressive third place at the Bantam Tier 1 Provincials. They had at close game with the eventually winner North Shore losing 4-2 giving up an empty net goal at the end. They beat the other finalist the Burnaby Winter Club 7-4. Their other wins were against SeaFair, Cranbrook and Nanaimo . The Vees were lead by the scoring of Matt Needham and Cody Depourcq. Needham had 8 goals and 18 assists while Depourcq had 13 goals and 7 assists. Austin Lee was a physical presents throughout the tournament leading the team in hits and contributing 9 points. Adam Plant lead the team defensively as he has done all year. He also had 9 points in the tournament. The Vees had the luxury of having two top goaltenders  Bryson McKinnon and Lawrence Langan who both played exceptionally well at the Provincials.


December 27-31st Burnaby International Bantam AAA Tournament

Despite being down to 11 skaters the Bantam Scotia Bank Vees finished 4th at a 16 team Tier 1 Tournament in Burnaby over the holidays. They beat a very high powered North Delta team 5-3 to make it to the semi-finals, Lawrence Langan had a strong game in net for the Vees making 30 saves. MVPs for the tournament were Josh Coyne, Cody Depourcq, Math Needham, Bryson McKinnon and Ethan Brown. 

Needham led the team with 25 points over the 7 games Depourcq led the team with 12 goals, he also had 11 assists. Graham Millar had 10 points, Tyler Ehlers had 8, Kendal Biro and Ethan Brown had 6, Jackson Dematos had 5, Rory Neary, Drayden Larsen and Eric Buckley had 4, Josh Coyne and Connor Walton on defense had 2. The Vees have secured first place over all in their division.

November 20th & 21st - GAME(s) Penticton vs Vernon

The Bantam Scotia Bank Vees extended their win streak to 7 as they are now 7-0 to start the regular season. They took a pair of games from Vernon, at home, this past weekend winning 9-5 on Friday night and 9-6 on Saturday. On Friday nigt Ethan Brown had a pair of goals along with Cody Depourcq. Adam Plant, Eric Buckley, Graham Millar, Matt Needham and Drayden Larsen had singles. Kendal Biro had 2 assists.

On Saturday’s game Needham erupted for 6 goals. Austin Lee, Larsen and Rory Neary scored the others. Connor Walton had a couple of assists. The Vees are in a tournament in Abbotsford starting on Thursday morning.

November 15th - GAME Penticton vs Vernon 

The Bantam Scotia Bank Vees are now 5-0 to begin their regular season coming off a 3-0 win in Vernon on Sunday. Bryson McKinnon turned aside all 18 shots he faced to earn the shut out. Cody Depourcq scored in the first minute for the Vees followed by a slick breakaway goal by Drayden Larsen. Austin Lee put the final nail in the Viper’s coffin with the Vees third goal late in the game. Connor Walton was solid on defense for the Vees.

Last weekend the Vees won both ends of a home and away series against Kelowna. Eric Buckley started everything off for the Vees as he scored a terrific breakaway goal helping the Vees on route to a 3-1 win at home. Bryson Mckinnon was in net for the Vees making 25 stops. Matt Needham and Cody Depourcq scored the Vee’s other goals.

Up in Kelowna on Sunday the Vees, survived a penalty filled contest, winning 6-1. Matt Needham had a hat trick along with 2 assists Cody Depourcq had a goal and 3 assists. Drayden Larsen and Austin Lee added singles. Rory Neary and Graham Millar each had one assist. Lawrence Langan was in net for the win and made 31 saves. The Vees next games are at home at the Community Rink on both Friday night at 6:15 pm and Saturday morning at 10:45.
